General Rules :

Admission and Withdrawals :
  • Students are normally admitted to this school at the beginning of the academic year i.e. in June.
  •  New admissions may be made subject to there being vacancies.
  •  Admissions are restricted by certain government regulations and by conditions of age and ability.
  •  No admission is complete until the leaving certificate from the last recognized school attached and, if the student comes from other state, countersigned by the education officer of district \ state. For fresh admissions, a Birth certificate is required. In the case of Christian baptism certificate of the candidate must be produced.
  • The principal reserves the right to refuse any application without giving any reasons for the same.
  • No leaving certificate shall be issued unless :
  • Applied for by the parent in the form prescribed in the school handbook.
  • All the dues have been cleared
  • All the library books and other school materials have been returned.
  • If a proper stamped envelope is supplied together with the application form, the leaving certificate will be posted by registered A.D to the given address on payment of required amount.
School Hand Book :
  • Every student must have a copy of the school handbook, which must be preserved carefully and brought to the school daily, failing student will be punished by the principal or the class teacher.
  • Daily homework, reports if any and lessons should be noted in the handbook.
  • Student must get the specimen signatures of the parents/guardians on the prescribed page and return to the class teacher. And also obtain their signatures as and when required on the various pages of the handbook failing which they may be sent home from the school.
School Uniform :
  • All the students must come to school in proper uniform.
  • Uniform should be clean and neat. Students not wearing proper uniform may not be admitted in the class unless written application from their parents duly signed by the principal.
  • Students are allowed to wear color dress on Thursday.
  • The uniform consists of :
    • FOR BOYS :
      • White shirt with the school badge, the shirt will be a half sleeve.Shorts for primary section and long pants for secondary and higher secondary-Color GRAY, plain white socks and plain black shoes.
    • FOR GIRLS :
      • White shirt, pinafore - gray color with the school badge, white socks and black shoes for all girls.
      • Girls will wear ribbons according to their Houses.(Yellow,Green,Red,Blue)
  • The identity card must be brought to school daily and produced on demand.
  • Rule breakers may be fined and their parents will be called.
School Fees :
  • The school has two terms :
    • First term: June to October
    • Second term: November to May
  • Those who pay the fees late will be fined Rs.50.
  • Students who have not paid their fees may not be allowed to appear for final examinations.
School Hours :
  • School hours are from 10:20 am To 4:55 pm with the recess of 55 (fifty five) minutes for lunch break and short recess of 15 (fifty) minutes. Saturday the timing is 7:20.A.M. To 10:45 A.M.
  • The first bell goes at 10:15 am students who enter the school gate is considered to be late.
  • No student will be allowed to leave the school compound during the school hours without the permission of the principal. No half-day leave will be granted under any circumstances, except on medical ground.
  • Every student must attend the assembly everyday. At the second bell absolute silence is expected. Prayers are to be said in devotion.

General Discipline :
  • During class hours, all must maintain absolute silence along the corridors.
  • Running, playing or shouting inside the school building is strictly prohibited.
  • It is necessary to observe perfect order and silence when changing classes for languages and also while moving along the corridors to the exits at the end of school.
  • During free periods Silence is to be maintained in the classroom. Students should utilize the time for self-study.
  • In the absence of the teacher, the class Monitors are responsible for the discipline in the class.
  • During recess nobody is allowed to sit in the classrooms.
Co- curricular Activities :
  • All the activities of the school are conducted through the class system. The class system encourages a healthy competition and promotes excellence in all the spheres while creating a spirit of togetherness of discipline and order.
  • Students are expected to take part in all the co - curricular activities of the school, as a part of cultural training. No students will be excused, except for grave reasons.
  • No student will be exempted from physical exercise and games without doctor's medical certificate.
Library :
  • St.Mary's has well-equipped library.
  • Perfect silence and order must be maintained in the library.
  • Students are not allowed to bring any book to the library.
  • Books are issued only to the students and staff only.
  • Only one book at a time will be issued and that too on appointed days.
  • Students are advised to carefully examine each book before taking it out of the library, the librarian if they find the book damaged, otherwise they shall be held responsible for.
  • Students shall return all the library books a week before the annual Examinations, failing will not be allowed to sit for the Examinations.
Examinations :
  • Three examinations are conducted during the academic year: 1.the first term examination, 2. The second term examination, and 3.The annual examination.
  • Students remaining absent in the examination without grave reason will not be promoted and the will not be taken again.
  • All the matters regarding promotion are left entirely to the discretion of the principal and it is final. Answer papers of the annual examinations will not be shown.
  • For the promotion of the students to the higher class, the following will also be considered 1.record of the year's book, both curricular and co-curricular, 2.results of the unit tests and other examinations and, 3.discipline both inside and outside the school.
  • Students failing twice in the same standard must discontinue the school.
  • Student has fared badly in the Annual examination and requires further guidance the result may be withheld.
